OptiBiotix Health PLC subsidiary ProBiotix Health Ltd signs distribution deal for the Phillipines with CTC Group unit

ProBiotix will supply CTC Far East Philippines with CholBiome®x3,  featuring its cholesterol and blood pressure-reducing probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum LPLDL®

() said its fully-owned subsidiary ProBiotix Health Ltd. has signed an exclusive agreement with CTC Far East Philippines, a subsidiary of the CTC Group, for the distribution of its proprietary formulation CholBiome®x3, in the Philippines.

In a statement, the life sciences business developing compounds to tackle obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, said the agreement will see ProBiotix supply CholBiome®x3,  featuring its cholesterol and blood pressure-reducing probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum LPLDL®, to CTC for distribution in the Asian country.

The company said the exclusivity of the agreement is subject to minimum order quantities and a multi-year business plan in an attempt to improve security of income and revenue growth.

CTC Group, a life science partner-provider of innovative product solutions for food, beverage, personal care products, and health and wellness, is the global business network group of the Koen Visser Corporation.

It is active in Europe, Africa, South and Central America, Caribbean and Asia with a head office located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Steve Prescott, CEO of ProBiotix, commented: “We are pleased to announce this agreement with CTC, which will expand ProBiotix’s presence in the emerging Asia-Pacific region. CTC was chosen as our partner for CholBiome®x3  product introduction in the Philippines because of their extensive knowledge of the local market and consistent track record successfully launching new products.”

The Philippines is a country with an expanding population of over 100mln and an emerging economy with annual GDP growth rates above 6% sustained over the last 5 years, according to the World Bank).

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the country, with high blood pressure affecting almost 20% of its population, according the World Health Organisation.
