Opportunities abound at Macy’s West Virginia Distribution Center | Journal-news

Responsible for fulfilling orders from the Macy’s website across the country, the team at the Macy’s West Virginia Distribution Center is in the midst of exciting times as opportunities are many.

“We have a variety of full- and part-time opportunities for community members to join us,” said Fred Barnes, vice president of supply chain operations at Macy’s West Virginia Distribution Center. “From warehouse associates and power equipment operators to supervisor opportunities, there are roles available for every level of experience and skillset.”

Barnes said the center thrives in a work environment where colleagues can be themselves, learning at every point in their career journey. He said Macy’s is committed to investing in current and future employees, pointing out a fully-funded education program that was rolled out early this year in a partnership with Guild. Employees have access to fully-funded courses for high school completion, college prep, English as a second language, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees, bootcamps and professional certificates with the Macy’s debt-free networks.

“Macy’s strives to be the preferred employer where we operate and are fueled by a culture of belonging and the belief that what we do and how we do it have equal weight,” Barnes said. “The work of every colleague makes a direct impact on today’s shopping journey, and we celebrate our accomplishments together as a team.”

Macy’s also focuses on being a good community partner, listening to colleagues and prioritizing what matters most, which Barnes noted as having the flexibility to manage a work-life balance as well as exciting and fulfilling career opportunities.

“A big part of our team success is our commitment to the community,” Barnes said. “Our Mission Every One platform highlights our mission to create a brighter future with bold representation for all. It’s an exciting opportunity to give back to our people, communities and the planet. In March, all of our colleagues rallied together to raise more than $11,000 for No Kid Hungry as part of Bag Hunger, a company-wide initiative to fight food insecurity and reduce hunger in our local communities. More information about Mission Every One is available at macysinc.com/purpose.”

Macy’s offers competitive pay at $18 per hour minimum, access to flexible scheduling, a bilingual work environment, traditional health and welfare benefits, 401k, paid time off, merchandise discount, the opportunity to earn additional bonuses and more. Hourly colleagues also have the ability to access earned wages before their scheduled payday through Payactiv.

The fulfillment center is currently hiring. Opportunities can be viewed at macysJOBS.com.
