  • Certa has made it its mission to eliminate procurement bottlenecks for enterprises.

  • Twitch cofounder Justin Kan and Dropbox boss Drew Houston both backed the firm.

A no-code startup that aims to ease a bottleneck in procurement has raised fresh funds in a round backed by cofounders from both

and Dropbox.

Certa, a San Francisco-based startup founded in 2013, uses automation to dramatically speed up the time it takes for enterprises to onboard new vendors and partners. In some cases, the often opaque process can take months to complete.

Jag Lamba, founder and CEO of Certa, said the modern business ecosystem was one that “requires an increasing amount of collaboration between companies”, but suffers from a “manual, time-intensive” process.

“It doesn’t need to be this way,” Lamba said. “Our platform was built out of necessity to help our customers onboard third-party vendors, partners, and customers quickly and efficiently so they can get back to business.”

Certa aims to do this by automating “the entire third-party lifecycle” for enterprises with its software. Procurement teams at organizations can use its no-code technology to automate processes around procurement and compliance without IT support.

Its Series A round was led by Point72 Ventures, the venture capital firm of billionaire hedge fund manager Steven Cohen, with participation from others including Twitch cofounder Justin Kan, Dropbox boss Drew Houston, and Mantis VC.

“Whether a vendor, customer, or partner, there is a growing demand to find the most secure, efficient, and comprehensive way to integrate and scale business processes,” said Tripp Shriner, Partner at Point72 Ventures.

The firm said it has helped its clients in sectors such as retail, aerospace, and tech onboard over one million companies across 120 countries.
