Military veterans and their families in Niagara County are eligible for a free food distribution from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday outside the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company hall, 3747 Lockport Road, Wheatfield.
Western New York Heroes, with help from members of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, will supply each veteran family with one box of meat, produce and dairy products. Proof of military service is required and will be verified before the food is distributed.
This is a first-come, first-served opportunity, with no preorders or deliveries available. Those seeking the free food will be asked to open their vehicles trunk and wear face masks as they approach the designated pickup location to expedite distribution and maintain proper social distancing.
