Native Snacks inks distribution agreement with Burts Snacks

UK-based Native Snacks has secured a strategic partnership and distribution agreement with Burts Snacks.

The brand, which launched a range of Popped Lotus Seeds last year, has also raised £150,000 in seed funding.

“Native Snacks is redefining plant-based snacking with their new range of Popped Lotus Seeds, a genuinely better-for-you, alternative snack which is big on crunch and packs a flavour punch,” said Simon Knight, sales and marketing director at Burts Snacks.

“Their product reflects the desires of consumers, to eat better-for-you, convenient snacks that deliver on flavour and texture. We are really excited to be working with Charlie and Darcy to help grow Native Snacks into a household name.”

The brand has also secured a listing with Sainsbury’s as part of its ‘Future Brands’ initiative, meaning the Popped Lotus Seeds are now on sale in 71 of the retailer’s UK stores.

Native Snacks co-founders Charlie Bowker and Darcy Ogston said: “This is a huge milestone for our company. We’re thrilled to have secured a partnership with Burts Snacks, helping us to produce the best product possible.

“We’re on a mission to bring new and exciting snacks from around the world back to consumers and we are really excited about the upcoming launch of our Popped Lotus Seeds in Sainsbury’s.

“Our recent funding round with investors allows us to further accelerate our growth and support our mission to become the next globally loved snack brand.”

Crisp company Burts Snacks, which changed its name last year, is targeting sales of £100 million by 2022.
