The governors contend that there are several federal programs being used to distribute vaccines and they seek the CDC distinguish between the separate efforts to avoid confusion.The governors also request that federal programs to use pharmacies to administer the vaccine should be coordinated with the states. The governors contend the states know the communities where the vaccine is needed and states know which pharmacies are better suited for administering the vaccine.The governors said that if the federal government distributes the vaccine without state input, “redundancy and inefficiency may very well follow.”Read the NGA’s letter here.Maryland Gov.
