More paddy procurement centres than last year: Prashanth Reddy

Kamareddy: As many as 320 paddy and 109 maize purchasing centers in Kamareddy district will be launched, said Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy.

On Tuesday, apart from coronavirus issue, The Minister conducted a review meeting on paddy and maize procurement in the district at the Collectorate along with the district Collector Sharath. On the occasion, Prashanth Reddy said against 230 paddy and 32 maize procurement centres set up last year, 320 paddy and 109 maize purchasing centres were being launched this year in the district.

Minister Prashanth Reddy said that people should maintain social distancing as their social responsibility to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. He also called upon the people to inform the government about corona suspects in their neighbourhood suffering with symptoms of Covid-19. Government is taking all the precautions to check the disease and people should cooperate with it, he said.

The Minister appealed to medical, health, revenue and police departments to develop confidence among people. He also warned grocers of stringent action if they are found profiteering on the essential commodities.

The meeting was attended by Government Whip Gampa Govardhan, Jukkal MLA Hanumanthu Shinde, Kamareddy Collector Sharath, SP N Swetha Reddy, Additional Collectors Yadireddi and Venkatesh Dhotre and Special Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar.
