Dalton, GA – For Mohawk Home, New York Home Fashions Market is all about touting its capacities and capabilities.
The area rug manufacturer and importer is slated to launch 30 collections across its various segments – including indoor/outdoor, woven, floor mats, accent and bath.
That’s more new product additions than Mohawk Home has debuted over the past two years combined, noted Bart Hill, senior vice president.
“We’re able to bring tons of newness this time, across all of our categories, because we’ve learned to work around the pandemic’s impacts on the supply chain,” he explained. “We’ve now reached the point where we can show more and bring more to market – just as retailers need it.”
The company’s strongest selling suit is its infrastructure, Hill continued, including ample capacity and warehousing, domestic manufacturing, overseas sourcing and in-house product development.
“Our total assets allow us to build our business when and where others cannot,” he noted. “We’re using the full scale of Mohawk to support us and our customers.”
Versed in both producing and procuring product, “we are able to bridge the supply chain. Last year we were just worried about getting stock. We were chasing product. This year, our focus has shifted. We know what is out there and we know how to get it.”
This adjustment comes at the right time, when retailers are in need of fresh assortments to enliven their selling floors beyond re-orders of existing programs since the pandemic hit in early 2020.
“The market is ready for a change-up,” Hill said. “But brick-and-mortar retailers need to know they can count on you. There are concerns that come with importing. We have the scale and internal logistics to make it work. We understand the issues around today’s supply chain, and we can fully mitigate those issues to push capacity where we need to and bring newness to market.”
Differentiation of product is a big part of the newness on showcase at Mohawk Home this season. There is a combination of in-house manufactured goods and imported varieties from innovative sources like Turkey. Plus, Hill added, the company is enhancing its assortments within key branded programs, including Scott Brothers, Bobby Berk and Stacy Garcia.
Mohawk Home will be hosting virtual tours of its headquarter showroom and new product offerings during New York Home Fashions Market.
