“Mix of tenacity and great distribution”

Well, that’s another transfer window done and dusted until January. Although, January really isn’t that far away! But let’s not go there for now.

Let’s reflect on what was a very long and exciting summer transfer window for Chelsea, bringing many big names in through the door and really improving our squad.

The window slammed shut at 11pm last night, but as ever, the late deals were being pushed through into the early hours of the morning.

Chelsea got two done yesterday – Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, and Denis Zakaria from Juventus on loan.

The latter surprised us all and came from nowhere, it also all went through really quick. But it seems like the owners knew exactly who they were signing and have some very complimentary words to say about the midfielder on the Chelsea website.

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly said: “Denis is a talented midfielder with lots of quality and skill. He will add depth and range to our squad this season, and we are looking forward to watching him play in Chelsea blue.”

Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano, co-controlling owners, added: “Denis brings top-level and international experience, and his mix of tenacity and great distribution will be assets to our team. We’re happy to have him with us and welcome him to London.”

I particularly liked the ‘tenacity and great distribution’ part. Sounds like something we could certainly do with more of!

Welcome, Denis!
