Chhattisgarh BJP Kisan Morcha state president Poonam Chandrakar while confronting Congress government on paddy procurement said the reports of large quantity of paddy being seized by administration from different parts of state proves that middlemen have become active to purchase paddy from farmers.
BJP leader said Congress government had not come up with a policy on procurement of paddy from farmers due to which uncertainty prevails, forcing farmers to sell their produce.
Rs Rs Taking the benefit, the middlemen from neighbouring states are bringing in paddy, which is now being seized by administration,’’ Chandrakar alleged.
He said with seizure of 63 vehicles and more than 19,000 quintal paddy proved that farmers are selling their produce to middlemen with no option left to them.
