Other than this week and for a handful of days in early June, the minivan plant has been shut down due to the ongoing chip issues since March 29.

“Stellantis continues to work closely with our suppliers to mitigate the manufacturing impacts caused by the various supply chain issues facing our industry,”  said Stellantis Canada head of communications Lou Ann Gosselin.

“Due to the unprecedented global microchip shortage, production at the Windsor Assembly Plant will be down the week of July 12.”

Stellantis announced its Brampton plant, which produces the Charger, Challenger and Chrysler 300, is also getting some down time.

The plant will be idled for the week of July 12 and then will begin its annual two-week summer shutdown that cover the weeks of July 19 and 26.
