Massive flames engulf, tear through abandoned warehouse in New Albany

Massive flames engulfed a former veneer and lumber mill Thursday in New Albany.The structure fire was reported before 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Grant Line Road near Beechwood Avenue.WLKY Chopper HD spotted the large plumes of black smoke as the crew was returning to the metro from a previous assignment.Few details have been released from the New Albany Fire Department, except that there was no one inside the structure when it caught fire. One developer planned to invest up to $25 million on the project, but no additional updates had been released on the redevelopment.Firefighters have not said what caused the blaze.
