Massive fire breaks out in Noida plastic factory, rescue operation underway

New Delhi: A major fire broke out at a factory in Noida‘s Sector 3 on Friday afternoon. Several fire tenders were sent to the spot and a rescue operation was still underway. People working in the factory have been rescued safely and no casualties have been reported so far.

The fire resulted in thick black smoke covering the entire area causing breathing difficulties for the people. It created panic among people in the locality.

“The fire is reported from a company making plastic trays. Efforts are being made to extinguish the fire. Around 12 fire tenders have been deployed. The operation is still going on,” the Chief Fire Officer in Noida said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage have not been identified as of now. The factory management suspects a short circuit as a reason for the blaze, but an official statement is yet to be made.

The fire broke out in a plastic factory located at C14 of Sector 3.
