Mars UK says Easter chocolate products unaffected by factory breakdown, as problems continue

Mars UK has declined to comment on when its factory would resume normal operations after it apologized to customers on Twitter earlier in the week regarding for a shortage of chocolate caused by a factory “breakdown”.

It explained that “for the time being”, consumers may not be able to find products including Maltesers, Revels and some Galaxy treats including Minstrels, Counters, Galaxy Milk and Ripple in stores.

The company added that its Easter products would mostly be unaffected and in an apology on the social media platform, said:

“We know it’s not ideal and we hate to disappoint, but please be assured that our engineers in the factory are working around the clock to ensure that we are back up and running to full capacity as soon as possible.

“Thank you for bearing with us.”

Revels recall

Last week, Mars UK was forced to recall packs of Revels after another mechanical breakdown at the factory meant some pouches may have contained small pieces of metal.

The 101g pouches with a batch code of 006C2SLO00 and 006D1SLO00 have a best before date of 31 January 2021.
