Man ‘sodomises, Strangles’ Friend’s Nephew In Factory | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: A 32-year-old man allegedly sodomised the 4.5-year-old nephew of his friend and strangled him to death here on Sunday evening. After the boy went missing, the accused joined the family in searching him.
The incident occurred in a hosiery factory, where the boy lived with his parents. His parents worked in the factory and the accused was employed in a nearby unit. The accused is a close friend of the younger brother of the boy’s father.
The boy’s mother said, “Around 5pm, my son was playing outside the factory. He suddenly went missing. After searching for him for one-and-a-half hour, I called up my husband, who is in Bihar. He asked me to lodge a police complaint.”
Inspector Kulwant Singh said, “CCTVs installed in the factory had captured the accused taking the boy to the first floor of the factory. However, he came downstairs alone. We went upstairs and found the body of the boy under a heap of fabric. Prime facie it seems the accused sodomised the boy and then strangled him. The autopsy will ascertain the cause of death.”
The accused, who was present at the spot, tried to escape, but was nabbed by police.
Cops also found a glass of milk and snacks near the body. “It is suspected that the accused lured him with snacks and milk. He has been detained,” the inspector added. TNN
