BHOPAL/JABALPUR: The Botswana woman being looked for by the administrative officers in Jabalpur turned out to be a South African (SA) army officer.

She was located at Jabalpur’s College of Material Management (CMM) following information from the embassy. Health department had launched a frantic search for her, after they came to know about her arrival at Jabalpur’s Dumna airport last week.
She is an SA army captain and was undergoing a training at CMM — which is a premier training establishment of the Indian Army which specialises in studies and research in the field of Materials Management. This college is also a center of excellence and learning for Commissioned Officers and other personnel of the Armed Forces. It also provides training to Para Military Forces and various State government personnel and officers of nearly 21 friendly countries. The college has contributed towards improving availability of knowledge based leadership both in the armed forces as well as for the corporate sector by fusion of modernity of thought and learning with value based academic curricula.
Jabalpur chief medical and health officer Ratnesh Kurariya told TOI that her sample tested negative and there is nothing to be worried about.
Botswana is one of the countries where Omicron infections have been reported. She had flown to Jabalpur from Delhi on November 18. As per the passenger list, she was identified as a resident of Botswana. Officers kept searching for her at hotels and resorts.
