The trucking industry is working overtime amid the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19 pandemic.
Truckers are hauling essentials for those businesses deemed ‘essential’ by the state government.
Kevin Cort, a driver for Leonard’s Express located in Farmington, Ontario County talked with WHEC-TV about the experience.
He’s driving between Canandaigua and Ontario, Canada — picking-up and delivering a variety of items.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before in my life,” Cort told WHEC. Product demands, which sit at all time highs, and the implementation of social distancing practices.
“It’s essential to keep the supply chain going, and keep the products in the store, really to maintain civility, quite frankly,” Leonard’s Chief Marketing Officer Mike Riccio said. “Everybody is happy to see more business, but the circumstances are obviously terrible, horrendous.”
