SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire)LG Electronics Inc. is speeding up efforts to gain a stronger foothold in the logistics robot market on the back of its next-generation self-driving logistics robot, CLOi CarryBot.

The tech giant recently announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with artificial intelligence (AI) startup FASSTO to promote cooperation in the supply and system development of logistics robot solutions.

Under terms of the MOU, the two companies will promote the development of a solution linking autonomous order-picking robots and logistics systems, the establishment of optimal robot operation processes for logistics bases, and the expansion of the application of robot solutions within logistics centers on a gradual basis.

Early this month, LG rolled out a solution linking the CLOi CarryBot with a warehouse management system and a multiple robot control system at Fassto’s smart logistics center in Yongin.

The two parties will unite forces to expand the use of the CLOi CarryBot at Fassto’s other logistics centers, while supplying LG’s next-generation robot solution to the logistics centers run by FASSTO’s foreign client companies.
