Letter: Reyes is part of Trump’s cover-up

Sean Reyes, I wonder: Who do you work for?

It is very concerning for the state’s top lawyer to be making such statements that are knowingly and provably false. As a taxpayer, I pay your salary, but your comments belie any impartiality of you or your office. You are supposed to defend and work for We the People, not the low-information viewers of Fox News.

The rules the House followed in impeaching this president were established by Republicans. To state that somehow they have weaponized a process based on a precedent set by Trey Gowdy is ludicrous and laughable.

Many facts point to the abuse of power and obstruction of congress by the president. These facts include his own statements on the White House lawn, the readout of the call with President Zelenskiy, and House testimony of David Holmes, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Dr. Fiona Hill and Gordon Sondland.

As to smoking gun material from the Energy Department, State Department and Office of Management and Budget, Donald Trump proudly stated in Davos on Jan. 22, “We have all the material. They [Democrats] don’t have the material.” You tell me, does that sound like an innocent person? The truth is being concealed, yet you blame Democrats. That makes you part of this cover-up.

You pledged to follow the Constitution, not wannabe authoritarians or your wayward party. Before this political grandstanding, you might have had my vote. Now you won’t. I am sick of paying salaries to fawning sycophants of the most corrupt and criminal leader our country has ever seen. An attorney general who is blind to inconvenient facts does not deserve his post.
