AS one of the largest electrical wholesalers in Uitenhage, George’s Electrical Wholesalers has touched a lot of lives over the years.
They supply electrical products to electrical and building contractors, retail outlets, property developers and to the local community.
Products are SABS quality approved products and George’s Electrical is associated with leading suppliers including CBI, Sunlit and Onesto to name a few.
Their product range includes for the domestic market includes plugs, switches, general wires, light fittings, stove accessories and geyser thermostats to name a few.
For the industrial market they offer products such as: variable speed drives, generators, transformers, various power cables, industrial fans, electric motors, XLPE as well as PILC cables, crane and vehicle controls and trunking. They also stock a variety of start and run capacitors.
“We do a lot of work for factories, with low-cost housing and rewiring of buildings.,” said owner and director George Rautenbach.
Along with its branch in Newton Park, which has been rated among the top 10 in PE, George’s Electrical covers the whole of the Eastern Cape.
They also deliver as far as Aliwal North, Mthatha, East London, Graaff-Reinet, Adelaide, Cradock and Somerset East.
Uitenhage branch is back
Only ten months after the Uitenhage branch closed down in December 2018, it was back in business again, still at 33B Mitchell Street.
“We were here for eight years before we closed down, and now we are back. We are still in the same place as before,” Rautenbach said.
“A lot of our customers were unhappy when we closed down and that’s why we came back, to help them.”

Ninth birthday celebration
And not only are they back after 10 months, they are also preparing to celebrate the Uitenhage branch’s ninth birthday in January.
