VERSAILLES, Ky. (FOX 56) – Hotels everywhere are being affected by supply chain shortages. A popular central Kentucky hotel is no exception.
The Kentucky Castle among other hotels will often stock up on items like shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. With the current supply chain issues, those items may not be as readily available.
The Castle is having to constantly make adjustments to the restaurant menu, meaning certain dishes may not be available at times.
Kentucky castle chief operating officer Christie Eckerline said the general public can help by being patient with staff as they navigate through tough times.
“The greatest thing they can do is have a little bit of grace. whether you’re here at the Kentucky Castle or whether you’re dining at a different establishment, if they’re out of something, have a little bit of grace and a little bit of understanding because we’re all struggling with the same issues,” Eckerline said.
Plans to improve guest spaces in the castle have been slowed down. In order to keep a freshly updated design, hotel staff will order products like furniture only to find out that they’re out of stock.
Despite this, the castle chief operating officer said while the staff has been very resilient, business has still been very good.
“I am very thrilled that we’re still here and still thriving post-covid, and we’re continuing to deal with it on a daily basis. The kind of word we take on here is pivot. If we can’t do something the way we want to, how can we do it. We’re constantly pivoting and changing to accommodate the current circumstances,” Eckerline said.
