Job: Coordinator – Procurement at Promasidor

JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES

Plan and execute the procurement activities of direct materials (raw and packaging) in line with approved MRP to ensure that materials are delivered on time, in full and at the right prices with the approved quality level .

The above is to deliver a competitive advantage to the company while ensuring smooth operations and products availability aimed at achieving the objectives of the department in particular and the company in general.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES

  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of quality and pricing that will provide competitive advantage to the company.
  • Initiate the process of tenders & bids for long term orders.
  • Negotiate prices, terms and ensure tenders are evaluated for final approval.
  • Maintain and update contract files for constant reference
  • Manage the MRP issued by S & OP and convert into and circulate volume forecast among suppliers.
  • Maintain a record of periodic price trends with update of key factors driving the trends.
  • Develop a monthly report with forecast of price trends / expected volatility.
  • Manage and maintain the supplier performance process based on quality and OTIF assessment performance.
  • Ensure active link between internal customers and external suppliers for the purpose of introducing new materials and / or new supply source(s).
  • Initiative procurement efficiencies and productivity ideas aimed at cost savings.
  • Maintain an activity monitoring schedule that captures the documentation, shipping, clearing processes vs the agreed / approved activity SLAs.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of pre and post shipment documents to facilitate hitch free importation / clearing process.
  • Supervise the activities of the local ordering / deliveries to prevent OOS.
  • Analyze data and produce reports and statistics on spend and savings.
  • Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives and evaluation.
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business.
  • Ensure compliance with foreign importation regulations, requirements/ processes by Customs , NAFDAC, SON, e.tc. ( HS codes, Form M & L/C).
  • Carry out other assigned tasks for the unit as assigned by the Manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.)/HND (A degree in Purchasing and Supply will be an added advantage).
  • At least five(5) years’ relevant experience within a Manufacturing Organization.
  • Good knowledge on importation process.
  • Knowledge of PBI and Professional Certification will be an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Must be familiar with foreign importation and documentation.
