Mumbai, Jan 31: Freight forwarder Jet Freight on Monday said it has begun operations of its last-mile delivery via electric vehicles in their latest exclusive contract with e-commerce giants to reduce overall carbon footprint.
The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Jet Freight Express (JETXPS), has currently added electric two-wheelers in its fleet and is serving across Mumbai and Pune, it said in a release here.
The company plans to include more electric vehicles to serve multinational companies as part of a global effort to make cargo transportation more sustainable and environmentally friendly, it said.
“We are excited to see JETXPS taking the environment-friendly route and sparking investor interest in the EV space. The company currently has added electric two-wheelers and serving across Mumbai and Pune, With the current prototype and positive scalability, we plan to provide delivery services via electric vehicle motivating multi-varied sectors for opting ozone-friendly approach,” Jet Freight Chairman and Managing Director Richard Theknath said.
JETXPS, which has acquired food-delivery, pharma, grocery and other B2B clients for its last-mile delivery solutions, provides inter-city logistics, micro-fulfillment, and warehousing solutions to e-commerce and retail businesses.
