Jamshedpur: Farmers need to fill registration forms for paddy seed procurement

Jamshedpur, June 4: Many farmers on Saturday filed their registration forms and submitted them at the Lamps office in Asanbani, Jadugoda. Fifty quintals of paddy seeds arrived at the Lamps office in Asanbani.

Manindra Mahto, Secretary of Lamps and BTM Kaushal Jha said that Sarna paddy seeds had been provided to farmers at the rate of Rs 17.75 paise per kg in Potka block area under the lock chain system where farmers will have to register their names at the Lamps office following which they will be able to procure paddy seeds from the online system. 30 kg of paddy seeds will be provided per acre of paddy cultivation. Manindra Mahto and Kaushal Kumar said that the online system had been introduced to provide accurate stock information. 50 quintals of paddy seeds have been sent to Asanbani Lamps in Potka block area, 30 quintals to Haldipokhar, 70 quintals to Kowali, 30 quintals to Kalikapur and 50 quintals of MTU 7029 Sarna Paddy to Potka Lamps. The crops, the officials said would be ready for harvesting in 110 days.

Asanbani farmers Pratap Mahto, Vishwanath Mahato, Sudhir Chandra Antu Kumar Mahato, Anil Kumar Mahato, Shankar Prasad Mahato and others had expressed their happiness with the introduction of the online system for paddy seed distribution.
