Investigators summoned to scene of large warehouse fire in east El Paso

El Paso

EL PASO, Texas — The cause of a large fire early Saturday morning at what was described as an outdoor warehouse in east El Paso was under investigation, officials said.

The “Condition 3” fire, one of the higher response levels for firefighter manpower, happened shortly after midnight in the 3600 block of Lee Boulevard at Turner Road.

It was initially dispatched as a “Condition 2” and then upgraded a short time later with a call out for the additional resources.

Fire crews reported having the blaze knocked down about an hour later and checked for hotspots.

No injuries were reported, officials said, and investigators were summoned to the scene to look into what ignited the blaze.

The address of the fire is listed in online directories as a self-storage facility, although it was not immediately clear exactly what burned.
