Integrations & Production Coordinator Universal Magazines requires the services of an Integrations & Production Coordinator to play the lead post-sale service role in our Kitchen & Bathroom Media Group. This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on person with ideas and maturity to manage client print and digital campaigns. If you like to play lead, and enjoy liaising with the design community, you will enjoy this role. You will engage customers in a professional manner, commissioning writing and photography, sourcing imagery and working closely with Management on all aspects of production. We are looking for someone with creative ability and commercial sensibility. In this role you will interface with the design community – a group of passionate and creative people who rely upon our mediums for business and market profile.
This role is advertised as full time but we will flex hours around the right candidate.

Position Statement
This position has been designed to create a better customer experience.
By placing all K&B media within one role this role will fast become familiar with the customers, and the subject matter and will be able to deploy that expertise to market in future, developmental versions of the role. This role will also take personal approach to the customer experience – personally welcoming every client to the publication and developing a positive relationship that helps speed up and smooth the process of collecting and publishing customer material.

The work has been divided between an out-of-house freelancer (Lauren McKellar and/or Cat Fallalis) and/or an in-house Integrations & Production Coordinator role (this role).

Welcoming Customers and managing their Customer Experience. Our customers are commercially savvy people and want to deal with someone who has experience, opinions and ideas. In this role you will personally handle every customer, forming a relationship that helps speed up and smooths the process. Our customers are design professionals so care about how their businesses are represented. The ideal candidate can establish a personal rapport with the customers, getting to know their businesses well.
To coordinate the production of your customers material to ensure their campaigns look good and meet market expectations and commercial objectives. The three things that matter here are collecting material in a timely manner, ensuring it is accurate, and using your flair to make sure the customer is represented in the best possible light.
Work so that customers campaigns shine within the overall editorial context of the mediums they are booking in to. Broadly speaking the mediums in this group aim to be the authoritative, which means we must present content that:
- Solves common issues faced by home renovators, drawing on customer expertise,
- Provides projects that are engaging and relevant to the majority of Australian home owners, drawing on customer content,
- Match consumer needs to customer needs,Ensure that work is planned and allocated to writers and photographers in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining a tracker for each medium,Meeting all deadlines for print and digital production,
Ensuing Customers see and approve the material that we are publishing on their behalf,
During print production, checking production proofs for quality and accuracy,
Be the brand guardian for the publications ensuring that we don’t publish anything illegal, irresponsible, or not fitting the brief of the publications. Training is provided on this.
Coordination of the editorial budget, completing and submitting Editorial Control Sheet for each edition. All Universal Home Publications are run in an extremely cost-effective manner using bulk-rate photographers, supplied images and stock photo libraries. We will also commission out most of the writing work for these publications.
Maximise the opportunities to attract advertising clients, working collaboratively with the Sales Managers to develop sales strategies. This will involve attending the occasional client meeting – approx. 1 per month.
Responsible for all content – This includes all features, all advertorials, images and captions. In this role you will organize photo shoots for the publication/s, and source the remainder of the imagery from photo libraries, Architects or the home industry. Advertorial client is created with client sign-off and approval.
Manage the pagination, ensuring all ad and editorial placements are met. Training is provided on this.
You will maintain your own photographic archives for the title/s including Universal’s copyright form system.
As you collect imagery, recommend brilliant covers to the Editor.
Liaise with the Production Coordinator to coordinate all subbing, proofing and print production.
Maintain good relations with advertising clients and Universal personnel.
Be an active participant in workflow, contributing ideas and creative ways to minimise cost, minimize production time and create better campaign outcomes for customers,
Occasional interstate travel (approx. 1x per year in a normal year) and some out-of-hours attendance at business functions to socialize with customers (approx. 6 x per year) will be required. Occasionally on deadline it is expected that the Integrations & Production Coordinator will be able to work back to complete work required.
This role manages both customer and editorial posts to Social Media Pages, working to a brief to ensure each meets the needs of its target audience.
Contribute to and implement marketing and content strategies for the customers. This involves:
Seeing to advertisers needs in the publishing of competitions, subs incentives etc and in the drawing and dissemination of prizes.
Being available for occasional trade events, merchandising situations, and shows and fairs.
Contributing ideas to the development of the customer experience and mediums.
Essential Skills
2-3 years in a similar role.
Background in Customer Experience i.e. you value personal communication and are comfortable liaising with customers.
Confidence and ability to speak to a variety of people in the home market – from small designers to Marketing Managers and Industry Association leaders,
Organisational skills. This is important – disorganization leads to increased workload; organization leads to creativity,
An understanding of magazine production,
An understanding of digital media production,
Ability to write – bring examples to interview. While this role does not do the bulk of the writing it is advantageous to be able to in some circumstances,
