It turns out there will be Fourth of July fireworks at Indian Lake this year.
Initially, the annual show at Old Field Beach was cancelled on June 1st per orders from Governor Mike DeWine and then-Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton.
Several Indian Lake leaders teamed up to explore different options.
The fireworks will be held on Becker Homes’ property along the south bank of Indian Lake near Russells Point on July 4th at 10 p.m.
RV Wholesalers donated an additional $20,000 for this year’s show, which will last 25 minutes. The show is typically 20 minutes.
Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce President Amber Fagan praised the community for making it happen during a trying time.
Fagan said, “We are so excited to share that through the cooperation of a private property owner, local volunteers, officials at the Indian Lake State Park, local law enforcement and fire department officials, and Zambelli Fireworks, the Indian Lake Fireworks Show is back on for 10 p.m. Saturday, July 4th.
“The fireworks will be shot off from a private property along the south bank across State Route 366 between Paradise Island and Township Road 239. This new location will present different logistics for vehicle traffic, pedestrians along the bike path, and boats viewing from the shore.
“Please continue to monitor for additional details as they are released. The IL Chamber is very excited to again share our biggest annual event again this year. Thank you to all!”
Listen to Fagan discuss the fireworks returning on July 4th.
