I’m 21 and live full-time in a van rent-free, I made the furniture using free pallet wood & the stick-on tiles were £14

FORGET paying expensive rent, a savvy 21-year-old woman has revealed how she lives full-time in a van.

TikTok user Amélise Burr, from Cambridge, revealed how she transformed the van into a stylish pink home using bargain materials.

In a video which has racked up over 150,000 views, she said: “Hi, my name is Ame, welcome to my tiny home.

“I spent a year and a half converting it from a van into a campervan.

“Here, I’m making my kitchen worktop, it’s made from free palette wood that I found and sanded down.

“Then I added some pink tiles to my overhead, these cost around £14.”

To make her bed she used some aluminium slats she found in someone’s driveway before adding wood on top.

She also added an air ventilation fan and even built her own shower from scratch.

Ame, who posts under @ameinavan, said she was going for a “ski chalet” vibe inside with the wooden walls and furniture.

She initially spent £5,000 buying the old Ford transit van, and has so far spent £2,000 transforming the interior to make it into a home.

Ame was working as a chalet girl in France but returned home during the pandemic following the death of her grandma, and she decided to start the project after realising “life was too short.”

Many people were extremely impressed with her DIY project, with one saying: “Omg wow, Queen it’s perfect.”
Another added: “I need to find the guts to do this.”

We shared how a man transforms old builder’s van into stunning £39k campervan with tiled shower & smart kitchen – and you can now buy it.

Meanwhile, a woman quit flat to live in a van, she saves £1.5k a month on rent & have no bills.

And a couple spent lockdown converting battered old van into dream holiday home.
