LEWISTON – The Idaho Animal Rescue Network received a semi-truck full of pet food donated from Chewy.com this weekend for local families in need.

Volunteers for the non-profit worked Saturday night and Sunday morning to unload and organize approximately 28 pallets of food and supplies to be dispersed to low-income families in the area.

“We are lucky to have a partner like Chewy.com who will send us much-needed food for our community,” Chair of Idaho Animal Rescue Network, Jennifer Redhart said. “Thank you to the volunteers who are working tirelessly to get the pallets offloaded and sorted for distribution.”

Local families who are in need of dog or cat food, as well as litter, should go to pantry.idahorescue.org to complete a request for assistance.

Idaho Animal Rescue Network is a local non-profit that works in Idaho and Eastern Washington to educate, advocate, and network with other rescues and law enforcement regarding animal cruelty and neglect. They are a no-kill animal, all-volunteer rescue organization dedicated to ensuring every animal they see is provided with a safe place to recover from their trauma. Each animal is provided with a loving, stable environment as they navigate the legal system. They also receive all necessary veterinary care to prepare them for their future forever home.
