ALTERNATIVE external airfreight sales and services agency Neutral Air Partner (NAP) has been chosen by IAG Cargo to be its supplemental sales partner in the small- and medium-sized (SME) forwarding sector, writes Nigel Tomkins.
The new partnership will see IAG Cargo and NAP work together in “various initiatives” to support the traffic of smaller forwarders, a statement reveals.
IAG Cargo, which operates in key strategic markets around the world, especially to and from destinations in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, says the aim of the tie-up with NAP is to help smaller customers grow their business.
The agreement also covers further development cooperation “in all areas” relevant to the air cargo logistics sector, it says.
“SME forwarders and consolidators represent over 45 per cent of global airfreight volumes and our network is comprised of leading and independent air cargo sales agents and consolidators worldwide,” says NAP.
“Through our NAP Global Airline Partner Programme, we aim to significantly increase our cargo volumes to IAG Cargo and to [gain] access [to additional] cargo capacity on key trade lanes.
“We are confident that working together with partners like IAG Cargo will drive direct value to our global customer base”, says Christos Spyrou NAP’s chief executive.
Darren Peak, head of sales at IAG Cargo, points out that small businesses are a core part of the supply chain, and provide an important constituent of its traffic.
“They play a vital role in our communities and I am delighted that we are partnering with NAP to provide support to the wider SME market,” he states.
“Partnering with organisations like NAP enable SME businesses to gain access to our extensive network, our industry knowledge and specialist products such as our Forward Rewards customer loyalty programme.”
NAP plans to present its IAG objectives at the company’s AGM and conference, which is scheduled to take place at the Ritz Carlton at Bali, Indonesia, in September of this year.
Founded in Hong Kong in 2016, NAP describes itself as “a global network of leading air cargo architects and aviation specialists” which is dedicated to providing air cargo solutions to the global supply chain.
