Well-known in high-performance powerboating circles, HydroHoist Boat Lifts has a subsidiary called RotoMoldUSA, which fabricates the plastic tanks used in its lifts systems. RotoMoldUSA has been contracted by Ongweoweh Corporation of Ithaca, N.Y., to manufacture United States Food and Drug Administration-approved plastic pallets for shipping medical supplies nationwide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HydroHoist and its RotoMoldUSA subsidiary are working to be part of the novel coronavirus solution.
The Claremore, Okla.-based powerboat-lift manufacturer announced the news yesterday in a press release. According to the release, the pallets are “re-useable, due to the smooth surface which lessens the transmission of bacteria and viruses, are non-porous and easy to sanitize.”
“In this time of great need, many companies within the boating industry have the power to help,” said Mick Webber, the chief executive officer of, HydroHoist, LLC. “Our facilities can easily produce large quantities of products that are necessary in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. While we are very proud of the quality and innovative design of our boat lifts, we are even more proud to be part of the effort to help the greater good.”
To fulfill its plastic pallet production contract, RotoMoldUSA is “expanding the focus of its rotational molding facilities.” The company will still be able to meet demand for HydroHoist’s boat-lift tanks, according to the release.
