HOMER CITY BOROUGH COUNCIL APPROVES ARPA DISTRIBUTION, BID FOR PAVING

On Tuesday night, the Homer City Borough Council announced the recipients of federal American Recovery Plan Act funds.

Homer City Borough Council approved the distribution of $36,500 of ARPA funds to five local entities.  $20,000 will go to the Central Indiana County Water Authority, while $5,000 will be given to both Homer City Parks and Rec and the Homer City fire department.  Another $4,000 will go to the Homer Center Historical Society and $2500 will go to the Homer Center Public Library.

The board also approved a bid for paving projects for the 2022 paving season.  The winning bid was $46,841.24 from Quaker Sales of Johnstown.  This year’s paving schedule includes part of Canal Street from Sycamore to Columbia and Station Street from the dead end to 100 feet from the bridge.

Borough manager Rob Nymick also said that the Metz Road water line extension project is 90 percent complete.  Nymick expects the project to wrap up this month.
