Home show in Grand Island feeling effects of supply chain issues

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A Grand Island tradition since 1975 was back this past Saturday and Sunday.

Fonner Park hosted the Central Nebraska Home and Builders Show, 2022′s edition highlighted supply chain issues that have plagued the home building industry for the last couple of years.

The show brings trades from across the industry together to help people plan home makeovers or entirely new homes. Businesses at the show have had trouble getting pieces to complete their products and services.

“Its always usually been dealing with components of things to complete the whole package,” Rick Schmidt with Midway Wholesale said. “For instance in gutter coil, we are getting our gutter coil but we are not getting all the colors because one component like the dye that’s used to paint the coil is what’s missing out of the equation.”

The show had everything from building materials to home accents to furniture.
