Henderson County News: Builder values mystery warehouse at $21.3 million

Builder values mystery warehouse at $21.3 million

Work is continuing on a 112,485-square-foot warehouse on N.C. 280 at Fanning Fields Road for an unnamed company thought to be in the last-mile delivery business.

The applicant for the building permit valued the project at $21,285,000. Although the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development has confirmed it was told the warehouse will employ about 200 workers, officials said they’re signed a non-disclosure agreement as to the identity. The name of the owner, ALM Asheville LLC, is similar to a corporation that built an Amazon facility in Bremerton, Washington, of roughly the same size and also near a regional airport. In that case the property buyer was ALM Bremerton LLC. ALM Asheville LLC bought the 28-acre former cornfield for $400,000 on Jan. 14. The person listed as the building permit applicant said he could not identify the owner. The general contractor is Samet Corp. of Greensboro.
