Helping Hands: God’s Warehouse collecting supplies to send to Middle Tennessee | Local News

Donations will start being accepted Monday at God’s Warehouse for victims of tornadoes that ripped through Middle Tennessee this week..

“We will send anything on the shelf we have once the donations come in,” said Don Owen, disaster relief director for the Nolachucky Baptist Association’s Disaster Relief Team.

The disaster relief team is accepting donations for God’s Warehouse to help in the aftermath of tornadoes that touched down in Nashville and Cookeville, killing at least 25 people.

Roughly, 255 people were injured from the spawn of tornadoes that touched down at four different locations in Middle Tennessee.

Owen said God’s Warehouse, located off West Andrew Johnson Highway, will take donations from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. throughout next week and beyond if needed.

“We’re in this for the long haul,” he said.

On Sunday, the team will send water, Gatorade and MREs to disaster relief crews currently working in Middle Tennessee to assist victims.

Chris Bell, Morristown Emergency Management Association director, said Hamblen County EMA is partnering with the Nolachucky Baptist Disaster Relief Team to help.

“We would encourage anyone to send any donations to God’s Warehouse,” Bell said.

Items that God’s Warehouse is accepting include:

• New clothing, underwear and backpacks

• Perishable items not expired

• Trash bags, hardware and cleaning supplies

Owen said any used or second-hand clothing will not be accepted.

Any monetary donations can be made online at NolachuckyBaptistAssociation.org or mailed to Nolachucky Baptist Association Disaster Relief, PO Box 326, Morristown TN 37815.

God’s Warehouse is located at 3441 West Andrew Johnson Highway.
