Head of Procurement – Non Resale Goods & Services – Sector Leader job with CPG Europe

This market leader within a UK services sector category successfully re organised its operations during 2019 and has shown encouraging robustness so far in 2020. The board are now planning further strategic recruitment to maximise expected growth opportunities post lockdown.

The scope for improved procurement practice in the outlay of the company’s £10 million+ annual spend on Not for Resale goods and services is seen as a priority opportunity. The new role of Head of Procurement is being created to take over this responsibility, working closely with the major cost centre heads and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a rare chance to make a personal difference to the future performance of a significant medium sized business.

We seek an energetic and experienced Procurement professional ideally with a mix of experience including large company ‘best practice’ as well as smaller company entrepreneurialism. They must have the experience to design and implement a best practice procurement process across the company using appropriate technology.

Other essential candidate requirements include:

  • Graduate calibre with proof of CPD ideally to MCIPS level
  • Majority of experience should include Goods Not For Resale ( GNFR) and Indirect spend responsibility
  • Demonstrates contemporary knowledge and experience of best practice procurement processes
  • Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
  • A professional style commanding respect at all levels and strongly ‘can do’
  • Very organised, data focused and methodical in planning and execution
  • A tough persuasive negotiator with unwavering cost reduction focus
  • Comfortable working without the need for continual guidance
  • Energetic, “sleeves rolled up” working style
  • Strong attention to detail and a “completer-finisher”

This will be a role with some mobility, nominally based from company offices in Surrey but also involving regular visits to other facilities nationwide and with the opportunity of some home based days.

The starting salary range from £60,000 to £70,000 anticipates different levels of experience being of interest. A bonus incentive based on company performance will form part of the package.

Candidates must be authorised to work in the UK, and will most likely be located in the Western or Southern reaches of Greater London and neighbouring Home Counties.
