Groups across the Miami Valley set to hold food distribution events today – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

Groups across the Miami Valley are getting ready to give away free turkeys or Thanksgiving dinners to those in need this holiday.

In Dayton, the NAACP headquarters will be giving away turkeys to local families for this Thanksgiving.

The giveaway will start and noon and last until 4:00 p.m., according to a release. The event will be first come first serve. Each family will be limited to one turkey.

Starting around 11:00 a.m., the Freedom Faith Missionary Baptist Church and Functioning Families Make Better Communities will be providing Thanksgiving dinner baskets to the public.

The first come first serve drive-thru event will be handing out over 500 dinners at their location on North Main Street in Dayton.

In Xenia, the East Second Street First Church of God will be hosting its annual turkey giveaway.

The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. today at their church on East Second Street.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s giveaway will be a drive-through only event.
