Grimaldi supports Naples metro expansion – Business

Grimaldi Group will transport 114 railcars from Spain to Italy on behalf of freight forwarder Multitrade.

Manufactured by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, the railcars will be used to enhance the Naples metro fleet. The project will last until March 2022.

The first shipment of six units departed the port of Sagunto on March 8 and was delivered to the port of Naples on the ro-ro vessel Eurocargo Roma. Multitrade supplied special platforms equipped with rails to handle the cargoes in Sagunto.

Each unit varies between 17.4 m and 18.6 m in length, with the heaviest weighing 30 tons (27.2 tonnes).
