Gleaners to host free food distribution event in Waterford Twp. – Daily Tribune

Gleaners Community Food Bank is hosting a free drive-up food distribution event, 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Oakland County Farmers Market while supplies last, for anyone in need.

Attendees are advised to drive up and stay in their vehicles at the market parking lot, located at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford Twp. Groceries, such as milk, fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and other shelf-stable items, will be placed into recipients’ trunks. Walk-up guests may obtain groceries from a self-service table, and should be prepared to carry the items.

No appointment, identification or proof of eligibility is required to receive food and attendees may pick up food for another household.

Gleaners hosts periodic drive-up food distribution events at the market.
