Germany’s MAHLE unit to build 20 mln euro factory in Bosnia

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 14 (SeeNews) – MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia, a Bosnian subsidiary of German car parts manufacturer MAHLE, will build a new 20 million euro ($21.8 million) production facility in Laktasi, the municipality said.

The municipality has provided to the investor land for the construction of a new facility spanning about 30,000 sq m, the Laktasi municipality said in a press release on Wednesday.

The factory will be built in the production and business zone Aleksandrovac and will employ over 700 people, the press release read.

MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia already operates a car parts factory in Laktasi, employing 424 people, according to MAHLE’s website.

Laktasi is located in the Serb Republic – one of the two autonomous entities making Bosnia. The other one is the Muslim-Croat Federation.
