TUCSON (KVOA) – Many gas stations in Sierra Vista ran out of gas over the weekend, including Sierra Vista’s largest gas station, which has been out of fuel for over a day.
“Yeah we’ve been trying to get gas and we came here. This is like our third time trying to get it,” said one couple at the gas pump. “They’re out of unleaded, they’re out of plus and now premium is just.. They’re out of premium now?”
“This is like the fifth gas station I’ve been to this morning alone,” Rich Ott said.
Some motorists said they tried several gas stations before finding one with gas.
“Maybe like three, neighborhood ones. This one was closed, I know the Circle K’s were down. Just the Chevron was open, and Fry’s,” Daniel Galaz said.
News 4 Tucson spoke with a clerk at Valero, located on Fry Boulevard, who said they received gas Monday morning. They said it was an issue with their wholesaler.
We checked out several station in the area and most have at least some pumps open, except Circle K.
“I got here and I got $4.68 of premium and then it stopped. It was out,” Rich Ott said.
Some folks stocked up not sure how long the shortage would last.
“Everyone was filling up gas cans. But this morning? This morning is back to normal, as far as I know,” Daniel Galaz said.
According to the Valero, it received a delivery Monday morning of all gas except Diesel.
