Garment factory investment approved by CDC, bringing value of approved projects for 2020 $1.16 billion

Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved a new investment project with a total capital of $6.6 million in Kandal province.

According to the CDC, the newly approved project, belonging to Jiayuan Hengrun Int’l Textile Co., Ltd., is expected to create a total of 1,929 jobs for the locals.

Under the project, a garment factory will be built in Sangkat Svay Rolum, Takhmao town, it pointed out.

Since early December 2019, CDC has given green light to 16 investment projects, including the above-said project, with a total capital of nearly $1.16 billion, generating some 9,000 job opportunities.

Such investment amid COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic. Phal Sophanith – AKP
