
12M FTC – IT Sourcing manager – FTSE250 Engineering/Tech Firm – Fast-Track Progression – £50k + Package – Software, Hardware & Telecoms – Surrey
Due to consistent annual growth, a fantastic opportunity has been made available for a driven and experienced IT Procurement professional to join this market-leading engineering technology firm as their Procurement Category Manager, focusing on a wide range of IT subcategories and working out of their global Surrey HQ.
The successful Procurement Category Manager will oversee a large spends (£100m+) and will be given full autonomy to conduct strategies for the IT Procurement category and ensure the business is always developing. You will be tasked with working cross functionally in a business partner capacity with the wider IT Operations team to delivery significant cost savings across the group.
Procurement Category Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing a large spend across IT Procurement category
- Develop new strategies for business development and reporting to senior members as to how the company can develop the procurement function
- Negotiate, and create relationships with, internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular market
- Conduct deep research into IT category and identify how you can generate savings across them
- Manage stakeholder relationships – ensuring a positive working relationship is in place
Key Skills & Experience Sought:
- Strong IT Procurement experience
- Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
- History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
- Good communication skills with past experience managing difficult supplier and stakeholder relationships
