“Food is the moral right of all who are born into this world.” — Norman Borlaug
With this pandemic, many of us are stretching our dollars and finding it hard to feed our families. Holy Family Food Pantry in Luzerne has set its next food distribution giveaway date, for Saturday, Feb. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bags of non-perishable food items will be distributed to families in need. Everyone is welcome.
The pantry, located in the basement of the rectory/office, is supported by the financial contributions of parishioners and friends as well as donations of non-perishable food items, accepted in bins at the entrances to the parish church.
All donations are welcome. Large quantities of food items may be delivered at the Tener Street entrance to the food pantry by appointment.
Parish and community volunteers are invited to help bag groceries on the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 5 p.m., and to help distribute food on the last Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For information about the food pantry, call the parish office at 570-287-6600.
