The Order of A.H.E P.A. Hancock Chapter No. 103 held its Christmas family food distribution for the Weirton Christian Center and Dunbar Recreation Center. The chapter was asked if it was possible to provide food for the children when they are off for the Christmas and New Year break from school, a chapter spokesperson explained. “The project was approved by the membership, and through the generosity of a major donor and a minor donor, the funding was secured.” James Banketas, chapter president, appointed Steve Psaros as project chairman of the distribution conducted on Dec. 21 from the Conference Center at the Serra Village. The food was packed in cooperation with members of the Weirton Rotary, A.H.E.P.A.a, All Saints Church and staff and volunteers of the Weirton Christian Center. There were 39 families accommodated with various food items that provided breakfast, lunch and supper for 103 children and 69 adults.
