Job Summary

The Procurement & MRO Specialist is responsible for the preparation of purchase orders, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with Just In Time manufacturing, including cost-effectiveness and the timely delivery of materials that meet technical and quality requirements. The Procurement & MRO Specialist also will work closely with Maintenance to ensure the right parts, in the right quantities, at the right time are on-hand for required equipment maintenance. Maintaining equipment, parts inventory and supplier database will also be required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Proactive approach to the day-to-day business processes within the Procurement department, including daily processing of purchase orders, vendor returns, and new vendor introduction.
  • Work with Senior Buyer to troubleshoot operational issues and develops action plans to resolve issues when they arise.
  • Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, and supplies in a timely and cost-effective way.
  • Evaluate prices, lead times and delivery terms to optimize spend, ensure quality, and provide uninterrupted supply of goods and services.
  • Monitor prices with Senior Buyer by product and vendor to predict and account for financial fluctuations.
  • Manage equipment, parts inventory and supplier database.
  • Track delivery on all orders and expedite as required, reconcile all receiving, and work closely with Accounts Payable.

Business Development 

  • Help to define, establish and improve Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Identify new suppliers, negotiate terms and supply agreements when appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
  • Excellent ability to identify, communicate and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist Maintenance with identifying and managing critical spares, repairable, and non-repairable parts for optimal operational efficiency and equipment life.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field
  • 2-3 years of Procurement experience
  • Storeroom operations experience
  • Manufacturing experience in a beverage/food industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains a plus
  • High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
