T. Hasegawa USA, Inc. facility

The U.S. subsidiary of one of the world’s largest food and beverage flavor suppliers is set to grow with a new factory in Southern California.

T. Hasegawa USA said Nov. 23 that it will open a new production facility in Rancho Cucamonga in March of next year. At 60,000 square feet, the facility will become the company’s new production facility after it shifts activities from its current location in Corona, California. Its corporate headquarters will remain in nearby Cerritos.

T. Hasegawa, which produces sweet food and beverage flavors, said the new facility will augment its manufacturing resources by 50%, and expand its capabilities in sweet flavor and technology.

Construction is underway at the new plant, which will feature large-capacity equipment for liquid blending, spray dry technology for powdered flavors, and extraction equipment.

“We have experienced organic growth in recent years and outgrown our original manufacturing facilities as we continue to expand our world-class food and beverage flavor development,” Tom Damiano, T. Hasegawa USA’s CEO, said in a news release. “The new Rancho Cucamonga location is significantly larger than our existing U.S. manufacturing facility in Cerritos and will serve as a platform for future growth.”

The company didn’t state how many employees the new factory would have, but it noted that over the next five years it would increase T. Hasegawa’s total headcount by more than 30%.
