Fertiliser procurement can be scrutinised later, we need to get inputs to farmers – Phiri

AGRICULTURE Minister Mtolo Phiri says questions regarding the fertiliser procurement tender for the 2022/2023 farming season can be addressed later because the important thing right now is that suppliers have been identified to deliver inputs. And Phiri says the Ministry has signed contracts with six suppliers who will deliver farming inputs within this week. In an interview, Phiri said government was a bit late to deliver farming inputs and it was therefore not the right time to start scrutinising the procurement process. “If there are questions about the procurement, those questions can be looked at later.
