Factory worker nabbed for stabbing teen in face with car key

SUNGAI PETANI: A factory worker has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a teenager in the face with a car key at Pantai Merdeka in Kota Kuala Muda here on Sunday (June 19).

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Zaidy Che Hassan said the incident happened at a toy stall in Pantai Merdeka at 6.22pm when the suspect, a 23-year-old woman, stabbed the victim with her car key.

“The victim was at a toy stall belonging to her sister when she was suddenly attacked by the suspect.

“During the incident, there was a scuffle between the suspect and the victim,” he said in a statement Wednesday (June 22).

ACP Zaidy said following the incident, the victim suffered injuries to her right eyebrow after being struck by the car key and complained of body aches.

He said the initial investigation found that the incident was caused by the suspect being unhappy with the victim’s family over some business issues.

He said the suspect was sent to Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim in Sungai Petani for treatment.

ACP Zaidy said the suspect was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
