Exclusive Photos Of Latest Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Leaving Its Factory

The Lamborghini Countach is one of the most iconic supercars in automotive history – in production from around 1974 to 1990, this Italian exotic in many ways symbolized the excess and grandeur of the 1980s.

The Countach was the dream car for many young gearheads who adorned their bedroom walls with posters of this work-of-art on wheels.

The list of celebrity owners of the Countach was long, and included even Mario Andretti.

An entire generation has now gone by since the last Countach rolled off the factory floor in Sant’Agata Bolognese, but even today car magazine and enthusiasts wistfully reminisce about this car.

Lamborghini unveiled an all-new Countach in August 2021 – now, thanks in part to Varryx and his YouTube Channel, we have spy photos of the new Countach wearing camouflage while sitting and driving outside the factory, taken by Varryx on the ground in Italy.

The New Lamborghini Countach Sticks To Its Roots

The original Lamborghini Countach debuted fifty years ago at the Geneva Auto Show, and the performance of the V12 engine broke new ground.

For the new Countach there will be a hybrid setup pairing the V12 with an electric motor.

This new powertrain will put out 769 hp and enable the Countach to go from 0-60 mph in around 2.8 seconds.

Those are strong numbers, but perhaps not ground-breaking in today’s world of 797hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeyes, as well as a slew of electric cars capable of 0-60 mph times in under 3 seconds.

What We Learn From The New Lamborghini Spy Pics

Lamborghini’s original Countach came with stunning styling that led the way for the ‘Italian wedge’ shape that would become very popular.

Its wedge shape makes its return on the new Lamborghini, but this time it is much softer looking; the front end pays homage to the Countach Quattrovalvole, but the rear of the new car looks more like the Sian.

The most notable difference between the old and new Countach is the weight – the new Countach weighs in at 3,516 lbs while the original Countach weighed initially, as few as 2,400 lbs.

This circa-1100 lb. weight gain is despite the fact that the new Countach features lighter materials, but then, we are living in a world where EV supercars hit the scales at well over 5,000 lbs due to batteries.

It will be difficult to use sales to determine whether the new Countach is a success, as only 112 copies will get made, so only time will tell if this car will lead a new generation of gearheads to become Lamborghini aficionados.
